— For job seekers —

Looking for work is
a skills window.

Between applications there is time, and most of it goes nowhere. The Institute of AI, the UK's professional body for AI, gives you free learning to fill it, a free membership to sit inside the profession, and a credential employers can verify. If you are out of work and looking, your accreditation pathway can be fully or partially funded.

— Three things you get —

Free to join, free to learn,
funded to accredit.

Nothing here is gated behind a sales call, and nothing asks for a card before it gives you something useful.

Joining costs nothing

A Member account with the Institute of AI is free and asks for no card. You get a member profile, member events and clinics, and every Learn AI lesson, quick answer and glossary entry open in full.

A day is enough to start

Learn AI lessons stand on their own, so five minutes between applications is five minutes that counts. Your progress is tracked as you go, which is how a scattered fortnight turns into something you can describe.

Accreditation while you look

If you are out of work and looking, the Institute of AI offers fully or partially funded accreditation pathways, covering some or all of your assessment and accreditation fees. You keep the credential, the post-nominals and the public verification page.

— A week of five minutes —

Twenty five minutes
buys you a vocabulary.

This is a real week on Learn AI, not a study plan you will abandon by Wednesday. Each item is one sitting, finished.

  1. Monday

One lesson on how models actually work, so the vocabulary in job ads stops being noise.

  2. Tuesday

Ten glossary terms. Retrieval, fine-tuning, hallucination, evaluation. Words interviewers use casually.

  3. Wednesday

A quick answer on a governance question, because every employer now has one.

  4. Thursday

Try a tool. Work out what a prompt costs, or watch how sampling changes an output.

  5. Friday

Write two lines about what you learned this week. That is your interview material.

Funded pathways for job seekers

Accreditation, fully or partially funded.

While you are looking for work, the Institute of AI offers fully or partially funded accreditation pathways, covering some or all of your assessment and accreditation fees. You leave with post-nominals, a badge and a verification page an employer can check in seconds.

— Where you would sit —

Four levels, and you only
need the honest one.

The Institute of AI accredits against a published competency framework. You are assessed at the level your practice actually supports, which is what makes the credential worth showing.

Level Post-nominal Who it is for Accreditation fee
StudentSIoAIEarly in your AI journey, or studying now.£49.99
AssociateAIoAIUsing AI in real work, with results you can describe.£99.99
ProfessionalPIoAILeading or delivering AI work to a standard.£199.99
FellowFIoAISenior leadership in AI practice.£299.99

The assessment is £29.99 once, whatever level you sit. The accreditation fee is paid once on approval and holds your grade for 3 years. While you are job seeking, a funded pathway can cover some or all of both.

— Common questions —

Questions from people who are looking.

What does it cost to join the Institute of AI?+
Nothing. Membership is free and needs no card. It gives you a member profile, member events and clinics, and full access to Learn AI, the glossary and quick answers. Paying only enters the picture when you decide you want an assessed credential.
How do funded pathways for job seekers work?+
If you are out of work and looking, get in touch before you apply. The Institute of AI will confirm whether your pathway is fully or partially funded, covering some or all of the £29.99 assessment fee and the accreditation fee for your level.
Will an employer actually recognise this?+
Every credential the Institute of AI issues has a public verification page, so a hiring manager can confirm your level and standing without taking your word for it. That is the difference between an assessed credential and a line on a CV.
I have no AI job history at all. Is there any point?+
Yes. Student is the entry level and exists for people early in their AI journey. Start with the free lessons, sit the assessment when the framework language feels familiar, and you come out with a credential rather than a certificate of attendance.
How long before any of this shows up in an application?+
The free account and the first lessons are the same day. A credential depends on when you are ready to sit the assessment, which for most people looking for work is weeks rather than months, because the learning fits into the gaps you already have.

Start today, and be
further along by Friday.

Join free, take a lesson between applications, and turn the search into the stretch where your AI skills actually moved. The Institute of AI is where that gets recognised.
