Terms &
conditions.
The terms that govern your use of this website — covering copyright, registration, membership, accreditation, and payments. By using the site, you agree to them.
The Institute of Artificial Intelligence (“IoAI” or “we”) provides the content on this website (the “Site” and “Site Content”) subject to the following terms and conditions (the “Terms”). By accessing and using this Site, you agree to these Terms. For how we collect, use, and store your information, please read our Privacy policy.
Copyright.
All content and functionality on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, icons and images, and the selection and arrangement thereof — is the exclusive property of IoAI or its licensors, and is protected by English and international copyright laws.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Trademarks.
The trademarks, service marks, designs and logos (collectively, the “Trademarks”) displayed on the Site are the Trademarks of IoAI and its licensors.
You agree that you will not refer to or attribute any information to IoAI or its licensors in any public medium (e.g. press release, websites) for advertising or promotional purposes, or for the purpose of informing or influencing any third party, and that you will not use or reproduce any Trademark of, or imply any endorsement by or relationship with, IoAI or its licensors.
Use of site content.
IoAI grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access, download, display, and print one copy of the content and functionality displayed on the Site (the “Site Content”) on any single computer solely for your internal, business use — provided that you do not modify the Site Content in any way and that you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices.
You may not otherwise reproduce, modify, distribute, transmit, post, or disclose the Site Content without IoAI's prior written consent.
Registration.
To access certain services, including the ability to apply for accreditation, you will be required to create an online account with IoAI. By registering, you agree to the following:
1. Provide accurate information
You agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information about yourself when completing the registration process (this information being referred to as your “Registration Data”).
2. Keep your information up to date
You are responsible for maintaining and promptly updating your Registration Data to ensure it remains accurate and complete. You can do this through the Settings section of your member account.
3. Protect your account access
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. IoAI is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorised access due to your failure to protect your login details.
4. Use of a single account
You must not create more than one membership account. IoAI reserves the right to suspend or merge duplicate accounts and may request verification of identity if duplicate records are suspected.
5. Account termination
IoAI reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account found to contain false information, violate these Terms, or misuse platform features in any way.
By registering, you confirm your agreement to comply with IoAI's Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Membership & accreditation.
General membership
Registration with IoAI is free. By registering, users gain access to the member account, the ability to apply for professional accreditation, and visibility within the IoAI ecosystem. Registration alone does not confer accredited status or the right to use membership titles, badges, or post-nominals.
By registering or submitting an application, all members agree to abide by IoAI's Terms and Conditions. All information provided must be truthful, current, and accurate. Submission of false or misleading information may result in rejection, downgrade, or revocation of membership or accreditation.
Once created, a membership account is not transferable to any other individual. The name registered with the account will be used in all formal communications and any certificates or verification materials.
Accreditation applications
To apply for professional accreditation (e.g. Student, Associate, Practitioner, or Fellow), members must submit an online application and pay the associated non-refundable assessment fee. This fee is required per application and covers the cost of review, regardless of the outcome.
Each application is assessed individually. IoAI reserves the right to:
- request additional supporting information or evidence;
- contact listed referees or review submitted links;
- offer an alternative accreditation level if the applicant does not meet the requirements for the level applied for;
- downgrade an application where appropriate (reasons will be provided).
Acceptance of an alternative accreditation level does not entitle the applicant to a refund or price adjustment. If the member declines the offered alternative, the original assessment fee remains non-refundable.
Accredited membership and fees
If an application is approved, the applicant will be invited to complete their accredited membership by paying the relevant annual subscription fee for that level. Accredited membership begins once this payment is confirmed and is valid for 12 months from the activation date.
Accreditation fees are non-refundable, even if the member subsequently cancels, fails to make use of their benefits, or becomes inactive. Statutory cancellation rights, such as any cooling-off period, remain unaffected.
Membership and accreditation fees are reviewed periodically. IoAI reserves the right to adjust fees at any time. Members will be notified of any changes in advance of their renewal date.
Verification and public profile
All members, including those not yet accredited, are provided with a public verification page. This displays the member's full name, membership tier, membership start date, and accreditation status (if applicable).
Non-accredited members will be clearly marked as “Not Yet Accredited” on their public page. Members may enable or disable public visibility of this page through their account settings.
Renewal and lapsed status
Accredited membership must be renewed annually. Members will receive advance notice of renewal requirements via email. If payment is not received within one month of the renewal date, the membership status may become suspended. During suspension, access to benefits and public verification may be restricted.
If accreditation lapses for more than three months, members may be required to reapply and submit updated documentation. IoAI reserves the right to reassess eligibility at that time.
Use of third-party services
Some membership services or benefits may be delivered via third-party providers, subject to the provider's own terms and conditions. IoAI is not liable for any disruption, inaccuracy, or harm caused by third-party services or failure thereof.
IoAI reserves the right to alter, add, or remove member benefits or third-party partners at any time without prior notice.
Communication and member responsibilities
Members are responsible for keeping their personal and contact information up to date. All communications from IoAI will be sent to the email address on file in the member's account. IoAI is not responsible for messages not received or opened due to outdated contact information or email client issues.
Payments.
All payments for accreditation applications and accredited membership subscriptions must be made through our secure online payment system. We accept major debit and credit cards and facilitate online transactions through a recognised third-party payment provider. At no point does IoAI store or directly process your payment card information.
When submitting an application or subscribing to accredited membership, you will be redirected to a secure billing interface where you can complete payment and manage your billing details, including accessing invoices and receipts.
By submitting payment, you confirm that the card used is authorised for such transactions and, where applicable, that you have obtained the necessary consent from the cardholder. IoAI will not be held responsible for any losses or consequences resulting from the unauthorised use of a payment method.
Payment is required in full before an application can be assessed or an accreditation status activated. Where payment is unsuccessful, the application will not proceed. IoAI accepts no liability for delays or failures in application processing due to incomplete or failed payments.
Accredited membership operates on an annual subscription basis. Members may manage their billing details, update payment methods, or download invoices at any time through their billing portal. Renewal reminders will be issued in advance of expiry.
All transactions are subject to verification. IoAI reserves the right to cancel or suspend any membership where payment is not completed or is disputed.
Third-party websites.
IoAI may provide links to third-party websites. IoAI has no responsibility for these third-party websites, which are governed by the terms of use and privacy policies, if any, of the applicable third-party content providers.
Disclaimer.
Liability
IoAI shall have no liability or responsibility for any information published on linked websites.
IoAI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost revenues or profits, whether or not advised of the possibility of such damages or losses, and regardless of the theory of liability.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court or other competent authority, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Changes to terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site or services constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
Statutory rights
These Terms and Conditions are in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer, which remain unaffected.
Applicable law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
Our Privacy and Cookies policies are an integral part of these Terms & Conditions.
