Prompt engineering is the skill of writing effective instructions for AI models to get the best possible results. Just as a clear brief to a colleague produces better work than a vague one, a well-structured prompt produces better AI outputs. Techniques include being specific about format and length, providing examples, asking the model to think step by step, assigning it a role, and breaking complex requests into smaller parts. It is quickly becoming a core professional skill.
