Find out which grade
you would be awarded
Before you pay for anything, spend a couple of minutes finding out where your practice actually sits against the Institute of AI competency framework. It is free and needs no account.
Three steps, and only the last one
costs anything
- 1
Answer honestly about your practice
The self-assessment asks about the AI work you actually do: what you decide, what you own, and who relies on your judgement. It is not a quiz, so there is nothing to revise for.
- 2
Get the grade your practice supports
You are pointed at the level the Institute of AI would expect your evidence to carry today, whether that is Student, Associate, Professional or Fellow.
- 3
Apply knowing the answer
Go into the formal assessment at the right grade rather than the hopeful one. If the free result surprises you, that is far cheaper to learn now.
The three thoughts that keep
good practitioners out
“I have no idea which level I am.”
That is exactly what it is for. Most practitioners guess low, and a fair number guess high. Neither guess is useful when you are about to pay to be assessed.
“I am probably not senior enough yet.”
Accreditation runs from Student upward, so there is a grade for where you are now and a published route to the next one. Being early is not a reason to stay outside the profession.
“I lead AI work, surely I am Fellow.”
Fellow recognises contribution beyond your own delivery and is reached from Professional. Leading an AI team is a strong Professional signal, not an automatic senior grade.
