AI governance is the set of policies, processes, roles, and accountability structures an organisation uses to manage AI responsibly. It covers everything from deciding which AI tools are approved for use, to monitoring AI outputs for bias, to ensuring compliance with regulations like the EU AI Act and GDPR. Done well, AI governance need not slow innovation down. It keeps AI adoption sustainable, trustworthy, and aligned with organisational values.
