The EU AI Act is the world's most comprehensive AI regulation. It classifies AI systems into risk categories (unacceptable, high, limited, and minimal risk) and imposes obligations accordingly. Even if your business is based in the UK, the Act applies if you offer AI-powered products or services to EU customers. Article 4 specifically requires organisations to ensure staff involved in AI deployment have adequate AI literacy. Non-compliance can result in significant fines.
