How to take
an AI lesson.

AI lessons from the Institute of AI cover a range of topics and are free to anyone. This guide walks you through finding one, enrolling, working through it at your own pace, and taking the quiz that records your completion.

— Step by step

Four steps to a finished AI lesson.

01

Browse the lesson library

Head to the AI Lessons library and pick a track from the cards at the top. Scan the lessons for one that fits what you want to learn. Each card shows the track it belongs to and roughly how long it takes.

02

Enrol for free

Opening a lesson takes you to its page, where its full details sit together: an introduction to the subject, the level and topics it sits under, anything worth knowing beforehand, the outcomes you should come away with, and an outline of its sections. Select the ‘Enrol for free’ button to begin the lesson.

03

Work through it at your own pace

The lesson opens full screen and moves one section at a time, with key insights and pause and think prompts along the way. Use the ‘Continue’ button or the arrow keys to move between sections. There is no timer, so take as long as you need.

04

Take the quiz to complete it

At the end of the lesson, select the ‘Take the quiz’ button. Its questions come from what the lesson has just covered, there is no time limit, and you can retake it whenever you like. Pass the quiz and the lesson is marked complete on your record.
