Two-factor authentication adds a second step at sign-in. This guide shows you how to pair an authenticator app and protect your account in a few minutes.
Go to your two-factor authentication settings. The status will read Disabled. Select Enable two-factor to begin pairing an authenticator app.
A QR code appears under Pair your authenticator app. Open an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy and scan it. If you cannot scan, enter the secret key shown beside the code instead.
Your app now shows a six-digit code that refreshes regularly. Type the current code into the verification field and select Confirm and enable. Your status changes to Enabled.
A set of recovery codes appears. Each one can be used once to sign in if you lose your authenticator app, so store them somewhere safe, such as a password manager. You are now protected at every sign-in.
Head to your security settings to pair an authenticator app and turn on two-factor authentication.
